New Delhi: Today, on Thursday, taking issue of resign of the congress leader- Kamal Nath from his charge in party connected with the Punjab Affairs, the BJP- Bharatiya Janata Party started commenting on it and said that the move simply proved his involvement in the 1984 riots. Moreover, the BJP party also added that the Congress Party had “teased” the people of Punjab by appointing Kamal Nath.

The said comments were raised through the party Spokesperson- Sambit Patra for BJP who said that “two things have come to the fore: first, it is the acceptance of the guilt, which proves there was the complicity of Kamal Nath in the 1984 riots” and secondly, he said “it shows the dearth of leadership in the Congress, because knowing the fact that his name has cropped up in the riots case, he was made the in charge.”

Kamal Nath was the general secretary in- charge of the Punjab Affairs, and he stepped down from his designation, following a controversy over his allege role in the 1984 anti- Sikh riots. For resigning the designation, he wrote a letter addressing Sonia Gandhi- Party President, where he made request before her, to relieve him from his duties so that party’s attention should not be diverted from the real issues like ‘rampant drug trade’ in Punjab.
