J&K Police arrests firstly youth in the Handwara Molestation issue

Srinagar: After a battle in Handwara on the alleged molestation of the collage girl by the security personnel, and also after the death of five civilians in the matter, the concerned girl has denied the molestation by the Security personnel and thus, the Police have arrested a local youth in the case. Moreover, five employees from the Government were also suspended in the north Kashmir for their role in “whipping up passions.”

Moreover, the police personnel said that the concerned sixteen- years old girl has also identified the youth who is arrested in her statements.

Moreover, it was seen reportedly, that the connected two boys were identified by the class 12 girl student while telling to the local court, that one among them was in a School Uniform, “confronted, assaulted and dragged her” after she came out of the Public Convenience in the Handwara square which is adjacent to an army picket.

Moreover, the police personnel also said that the said arrested youth is being questioned also, and while in the process, the Government employees five in number were also suspended, who were from the Education Department. And such suspension was made for their alleged role in the protests.

Moreover, as per Rajeev Ranjan- the Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, the alleged role of the Government employees in provoking the youth, will be inquired by the Sub- Divisional Magistrate, Lolab. And in this connection, the report will be submitted in coming fifteen days.

Moreover, it was also said by Deputy Commissioner that the protesters in Handwara destroyed the army bunker in the Handwara square and also set it to fire. Now it is also handed over to the Social Forestry and the Tourism departments.

Earlier mobile internet network was also blocked in the location, and also it was seen that Curfew order was also imposed in the Handwara town, looking to the seriousness of the issue.

Earlier, the CM of the State- Mehbooba Mufti also appealed to the people to help restore peace and promised severe punishment to those involved in the violence in Handwara and Kupwara.
