Srinagar: After the firing at Handwara allegedly by the security forces against the protesters who were protesting against the molestation of the college girl, two youth killed in the firing including a budding cricketer, now the statements from the girl appears shocking.
In Handwara which is about 85 kilometers from Srinagar, yesterday on Tuesday some protesters allegedly attacked against the security forces on the issue of molestation by the security forces personnel of the college girl, and in turn the security forces recourse to fire some shots in which two youth were killed and other some were injured.
Now a video surfaced today, on Wednesday showing the girl saying that she was neither molested nor faced misbehaviour by any Army soldier. Moreover, the media is taking responsibility of the veracity of the video. However, it is true that the situation is now made little confusing with such video.
While, so in the statements which the Chief Minister- Mehbooba Mufti preferred in this connection, he said an exemplary punishment will be imposed against the security personnel involved in the killing of the youth. Thus, he said such incidents cannot be tolerated as these have a ‘negative impact’ on the efforts of the State Government for consolidating peace efforts.
It is notable to this effect that the Police from Jammu & Kashmir registered a criminal Case and also started their investigations while the Army department ordered an inquiry.
In the incident two individuals namely Mohammad Iqbal and Nayeem Qadir Bhat also found sustaining the fire- arm injuries, as per the sources. They were taken to the hospital where they succumbed to their injuries.
Nayeem Qadir Bhat who was the Student at Government Degree College Handwara, and also was budding top order batsman who claimed to have attended an under- 19 national level camp some years ago.
The deceased- Nayeem’s mother in her statements to the media said yesterday’s evening “His father is with his body in the police station. Can you please tell him to bring my Gavaskar back,” Nayeem’s mother also urges a group of mourners.
