NEET: Now Union Cabinet to consider issuance of ordinance today

Mumbai: Today, on Friday the Union Cabinet is expected to clear an ordinance or an executive order to defer the implementation of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test- NEET, which is the common entrance test for the medical and dental courses, for the state government and their affiliated institutions for this academic year (2016).

However, the upcoming policy will also be offering that the exams to be applicable for the candidates applying for Central Government and Private management institutions under the management quota.

The central government is now considering the issuance of the ordinance and this is coming after the several meetings between Union Health Minister- J. P. Nadda and now the state health ministers to discuss the issue.

Moreover, the representatives from the State Government had earlier asked the Union Cabinet to consider the stress the students will face if uncertainty prevailed.

Also, before taking the way to consider the issue of Ordinance, the Central Government had earlier decided that two rounds of hectic deliberations for building consensus. Also, the Union Health Minister conducted meetings with the health ministers of fourteen states and the another meeting was also conducted between leaders of the Congress, INLD, Left and PDP and Union Finance Minister- Arun Jaitley.
