Srinagar: Indian Bollywood’s well- known actor- Anupam Kher who went to Srinagar, was prevented at Srinagar airport by the officials asking him not to visit the National Institute of Technology- NIT Srinagar Campus.
It is notable that the said NIT Srinagar’s campus is being tense since there being clashes between the students and police as were reportedly seen from the early of this week. Number of comments from the leaders, officials were also experienced in this connection, starting from the deploying of the CRPF personnel, till the comments from the senior police officials. Now the bollywood’s actor- Anupam Kher reportedly, planning to visit the location.
Earlier, showing the connection of his film’s screening, the actor- Anupam kher chosen to visit the JNU, while there being tension between the students in connection with their Union’s President- Kanhaiya Kumar was arrested under sedition charges. Now, he sought to visit the NIT Srinagar, and here also students are in tension.
However, the actor- Kher was stopped at the airport of Srinagar at the Morning time. Moreover, he was also shown as having voiced concerns about the police action on the students at the NIT, and as such he would have decided to visit the campus.
Today, soon he landed in Srinagar, he found tweeted that “Landed in Srinagar. ‘HOME’ away from home. Will go to NIT Srinagar & meet the students & give them a warm hug & a special gift.” However, later he was stopped by the officials with the order of his prevention.
It was seen that the said campus is in tension, since there had been lathicharge over the student protesters on last Tuesday evening. The non- local students reportedly, were trying to escape from the campus, when police started lathicharge. The protests was seemed on the foot of the clashes between the two groups of the students, one from local and second from non- local students. And the said clashes were seen over celebration over the defeat of Indian cricket team in the ICC world T- 20 semi- final match.
Soon the actor is prevented from entering the said campus, he again tweeted that “I have been told by J&K Police that I cannot enter Srinagar City at all. I have asked them to show me the orders. Sill at the airport”.
