PM- Modi in Iran for ‘two-days’ visit to sign agreement to develop Chabahar Port

Tehran: Today, on 23rd May, when the Indian Prime Minister- Narendra Modi reached in Iran, he was given a ceremonial welcome in the morning time. PM- Modi went to Iran for the meetings with the top leaders including the Irani President- Hassan Rouhani. He is on a two- day visit to Iran.

While, on the visit, the PM- Modi has to initiate the very centre piece of the visit i.e. the Trilateral agreement, for the development of the Chabahar Port, and due to such agreement, the central Asia’s will be open up.

When the Indian Prime Minister entered the Iran’s territory, he was welcomed by the Irani President, and both of them talked. Moreover, Afghani President, namely, Ashraf Ghani is also expected to join the meet in connection with the said agreement.

The port in southeast Iran will allow India to bypass Pakistan to transport goods to Afghanistan and central Asia using a sea- land route. Moreover, India would also be helping in the development of the said port, and is expected to invest 200 million dollars.

Moreover, notably, the said visit of Modi is now treated as the first visit of the Indian Prime Minister to Iran in the last fifteen years.
