Peshawar: In Pakistan, a sorrowful incident happened yesterday, Friday 23rd April, when Sardar Sooran Singh- a prominent Pakistani Sikh Politician was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclist. He was shot to death near his home which is located in the restive northwest of the Pakistan.
Notably, the Sikh Politician- Singh who was the Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa- KP on Minority Affairs, was brutally killed in the Buner District’s Pir Baba area and this comes near to the Peshawar. It was noted that he was returning back to his home after a routine walk, as per the Police officials.
While he was shot by the unidentified motorcyclist, people soon rushed to him and he was taken immediately to the nearby hospital where he was declared dead by the physicians. Moreover, notably the Police officials also said that there was no one from his guards available when he was attacked by such motorcyclist.
Moreover, soon after his death, his initial post-mortem conducted where it was seen that he had received only a single bullet in his head. But, yet there is no instance of claiming any responsibility for such killing.
While so, the said sudden killing of the Singh is condemned by the big politicians like Iqbal Zafar Jhagra- the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Mushtaq Ghani- Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Shahram Tarakai- Provincial Minister. Moreover, they also found vowing to bring Justice all those who would be found responsible for the killing.
Sardar Sooran Singh besides having a strong political career, he was also a doctor, and also a television anchor. It was also seen in the year 2011, that the Singh joined the Pakistan Tehreek- e- Insaf. Earlier to which he was a member of Jamaat- e- Islami Pakistan for around 9 years. He was also a member of Tehsil council, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee and Evacuee Trust Property Board. Moreover, it was also seen that the Sardar Sooran Singh had also hosted a programme, namely ‘Za Hum Pakistani Yam’ with the Khyber News, for 3 and half years.
