Southwest Bay of Bengal Depression

Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh to face heavy rainfall soon. The MET office has forecast such heavy rains in the several parts in Andhra Pradesh as the depression over southwest Bay of Bengal may intensify into a cyclone.

As per the Indian Meteorological Department, the said depression moved north north-west and lay centered about 120 kilometers south by southeast of Chennai. The said information was given by this department on yesterday, Tuesday’s evening. Also, it has stated that the “system is likely to move north northwestwards towards north Tamil Nadu, South Andhra Pradesh Coast and further intensify into a deep depression during next twenty- four hours.”

As per the said department, during the morning hours of 18th May, the system is expected to be close to Chennai. Moreover, the experts also suggested the occurrence of strong winds with the speed up to 50 to 60 kilometers per hour, were likely to be seen in south and north coastal Andhra. As such the experts from the department issued guidelines and warnings against the Fishermen, and asked them not to venture into the sea and sea condition is likely to be rough along and off coastal Andhra, North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
