‘There is nothing in script that threatens India’s Integrity’: Bombay HC on ‘Udta Punjab

Mumbai: After so many controversial comments, the movie- Udta Punjab has received positive comment from the court of Law, when yesterday, on Monday, 13th June the High Court of Bombay decreed favouring the movie and its makers took a long fresh breath as their film was not meted out unfair treatment.

For making such movie, the makers have involved huge sum amount and when their movie met with controversies they felt risk as to their losing of big money. Movie- Udta Punjab reportedly based on the facts of the Drugs addiction, and mainly people from Punjab having issues with this movie, as it is using word ‘Punjab’ and also showing drugs addiction in it.

The Revising Committee had earlier provided for the eighty- nine cuts in the film, as those contents were dealing with the drug abuse in the Punjab. Thereafter, at last producer of the movie- Anurag Kashyap, finally approached the High Court and order of Revising Committee was challenged. Now, finally, the High Court given its green flag to the movie holding that the there is nothing in the script that questions or threatens integrity of nation. And also court slammed against CBFC- Central Board of Film Certification and said that “there is no justification for cutting the ‘Punjab’ signboard.
