Rajya sabha

New Delhi: Yesterday, on 26th April Tuesday, the protests led by Congress over the imposition of the President’s Rule in the State of Uttarakhand resulted in the wastage of the second consecutive day of the Rajya Sabha as there was a repeated adjournments and early terminations of the proceedings of the day.

It was seen that yesterday, the Rajya Sabha met for the day and besides such controversial issue of President’s Rule in that State, the five new members found taking oath in the upper house. Such five members including the most famous personalities like Subramanian Swamy, Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, Swapan Dasgupta, M. C. Mary Kom (Medalist boxer from Olympic) and Narendra Jadhav member of erstwhile NAC- National Advisory Council. And as these new members found administering the oath, the current Prime Minister- Narendra Modi also found greeting them.

Yesterday’s hours started with such new members’ oath administration and thereafter, the Congress members trooped into the Well of the House and shouted slogans, as the Government found rejecting their demands for a discussion on a motion on dismissal of the Government in Uttarakhand which is led by Chief Minister- Harish Rawat.

However, it is notable that the said ruckus was seen offering repeated adjournments for the Upper house and it was also seen that there was no other option to finally adjourn the house proceedings for the day just minutes after 3: 00 PM.

Moreover, it was also seen earlier that the Finance Minister- Arun Jaitley who is also the leader of the House found stated that there should not be held any other discussion other than one proclamation of the President’s Rule in the Uttarakhand can take place. Also the minister found stated that the said discussion will be taken place on the proclamation for the President’s Rule is taken before the House.

Moreover, the Minister- Arun Jaitley also found justifying the said imposition of the Central rule in the State of Uttarakhan and said “real breakdown of constitutional machinery” happened in Uttarakhand.

While so, Congress leaders/ members found raising the anti- Modi slogans like the ‘dictatorship of Modi will be tolerated’ (in hindi- “Modi teri taanashahi nahi chalegi, nahi chalegi”)
