Bolton: India’s star boxer- Vijender Singh added new victory in his name and get registered a 6th successive knockout victory. He won against the Andrzej Soldra from Poland, in the match even organised at Bolton, northeast England, on Friday, 13th May.
In his fledgling pro career, he fought the first eight- round contest, wherein he completed another dominating win barely a minute into the third round in a Super Middleweight contest at the Bolton based Macron Stadium.
The star boxer from the country- Vijender Singh is only thirty years of his age and now he will be next seen in the action ring on home turf in Delhi. In the domestically held match he will be fighting for the WBO- World Boxing Organisation’s Asia title belt the opponent, who is till now not finalized.
Vijender Singh who is also a bronze medallist in the London Olympics found stated that “when I entered the ring, the coach told me to be patient and he came to me and I could play my game.” He also added that “every fight is important for me and I don’t think there is any relaxation. By winning first eight round fight, my confidence level has really gone up and this is a step forward heading towards the title fight.”
Poland’s Andrzej Soldra has faced defeat against the Indian boxing star and earlier too, he tasted defeat only thrice in 16 bouts. Even though he promised a horror show for the Indian boxer- VIjender, however, he again required to face defeat.
Moreover, while commenting on the victory of Vijender, he said “I am thrilled to get my sixth professional victory and excited for my homecoming title fight. Soldra was a good opponent but my punches replied to him.” He also commented back to Soldra saying “I think this fight was a horror show for him. I am happy that before my title fight, I am able to have six knockout wins.”
Moreover, the trainer to Vijender- Lee Beard found stated that, “he has got a lot of power and his technique is good and that is brilliant.”
