New Delhi: In the coming occasion of celebrating the Olympics events on 5th day of August at Rio de Janeiro, the former World and Olympic Champion- Abhinav Bindra would be carrying the Indian national flag. The honour of carrying such greatest national flag in the biggest event ever in the world of sport, was accepted by Abhinav Bindra to represent once again India in the world platform, as flag- bearer.

A thirty- two years old Gold medallist in Beijing Games had earlier very politely declined the request of carrying the Indian Flag in the London Olympics, as it was too close to his event, but here he will be appearing in his fifth straight Olympics, with Indian flag.

While commenting and answering the question as to whether he has accepted request made by Indian Olympic Association to be the flag bearer for the Games, he said “yes, I have accepted. It is my last Game. Was going to go to the opening ceremony in any case.” Earlier in the year 2010, Abhinav Bindra had carried the national flag in the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. Bindra is scheduled for 8th August for his event.
