New Delhi: After the road care- in of a portion of the road in Delhi’s Bhairon Marg, there were seen major Traffic snarls around the ITO junction. It was seen that in the Central and East Delhi the major roads were blocked, especially in and around the ITO and Ring Road up to Sarai Kale Khan. And it was seen started in peak hours morning yesterday, and deteriorated by 12 PM. Also, on Vikas Marg and up to near the Pragati Maidan along with the other major roads in Central Delhi. The information is given by the Senior Traffic officer in Delhi.
It was seen that near the Bhairon Marg, Delhi, the portion of the road was caved in and the authorities were carrying on repair work so that the traffic can be allowed to move ahead, however, this has led to a major traffic jam, as per officials.
Further, Muktesh Chander- the Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) has stated that the traffic from Ring Road to Mathura road “has been diverted”, so that the problems arose due to situation could be tackled with. The said diversion was for the period till the repair work is finished, as added by him.
The situation was made more critical with the leakage of the pipeline which had caused the flooding near the ITO flyover, by afternoon and also there was a chain of trucks which were allowed to move ahead in the morning time. All this has made the situation critical for officials.
However, it is notable that the people who found themselves confined due to such traffic jam would really have had a harrowing time as they were required to spent hours while there being a major traffic jam. Also, many of them, after such trouble, were regularly calling the Delhi Traffic Police Helpline, and till the evening there was a critical situation in Delhi.
There were around Thirty to Forty thousands of vehicles were seen crossing the caved- in stretch during the peak hours.
