Fresh landslide in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh kills 2

Itanagar: As Arunachal Pradesh has already yesterday seen big tragedy in the Tawang district when massive landslide was seen killing Sixteen labourers trapped in it, now today also the situation become much dangerous when another incident of said landslide experienced in the Arunachal Pradesh resulting in the two more deaths. The notable aspect is that the said landslide was seen in the same region today.

However, there is still not more information on this incident, but it can be seen that in the past few days, torrential rains have wreaked havoc in the region, with unplanned housing making it more prone to landslides.

Yesterday, on Friday, 22nd April, the incident had struck a labour camp it was seen in the wee hours i.e. about 3:00 Am, however, that incident had killed about 16 labourers from amongst the 19 labourers who had been engaged in the construction work inside the camp in the Phamla Village, near a Five Star Hotel. The spot was around 6 kilometers away from the Tawang Town.

Moreover, it was seen that in the rescue operations a joint actions were taken with the help taken from the Civil Administration and Army personnel and also the Police and Villagers supported them for taking the labourers out of the debris, as eight nearly, labourers were seen buried inside the rubble and nine were killed.

It was seen that out of such 19 labourers, the officials declared Sixteen as dead after the end of the rescue operations which was completed on yesterday’s afternoon time.

It was seen that the such landslides were also reported from various areas of the border district. Several technical supports were also taken for cleaning the areas.

Even the current Indian Prime Minister- Narendra Modi had also expressed grief over the incident, and Rajnath Singh- the union home minister also decalred that he was monitoring the situation closely.

The Chief Minister- Mamata Banerjee also found expressing her condolences for the families of the victims. Meanwhile the state’s CM- Kalikho Pul also had declared compensation of Rs. Three Lakh each to those who died in the incident and also Rs. 50,000 per person who received injuries in such accident.
