Gujarat’s Director General Of Police- P. C. Thakur shunted surprisingly

DGP Thakur

Ahmadabad: Ministry of Home Affairs in its surprising move yesterday, on Friday, 15th April, to shunt out a DGP (Director General of Police) of Gujarat- P. C. Thakur with new appointment as DG of Fire Services, Civil Defence and Home Guards in the Government of India till his superannuation in this year’s December month.

Moreover, in this context after the appointment of P. C. Thakur in the Central Government, the State Government of Gujarat also given an additional charge of DGP to P. P. Pandey who is an IPS from the 1980’s batch from the Gujarat Cadre, and he is also currently out on Bail in the controversial fake encounter case of Ishrat Jahan.

Yesterday, on Friday it was seen that the Ministry of Home Affairs has issued the appointment order of Mr. Thakur, but the notable point is that yesterday there was a public holiday in Gujarat on the occasion of Ram Navmi. As such sources said that soon Mr. Thakur learnt about his deputation order, he was taken aback. His deputation order is posted on the website by the Department of Personnel and Training.

However, about such deputation order of the Mr. Thakur’s connection, the State Government at Gujarat is feigning ignorance, and they are also saying that the for such deputation, his name has not been sent by the Gujarat Government and the Ministry of Home Affairs has yet selected him for the job and issued the said order.

It was seen that his name was added in the offer list for the deputation at the last moment, as seen apparently. Moreover, It was also seen few days back, when the vigilance clearance for Mr. Tkakur was called by the Ministry of Home Affairs reportedly, and he was not alone for such clearance, there were other top Indian Police Services- IPS officers too from the same State.

Moreover, as was seen reportedly, as learnt from the sources in the Secretariat that the “government was keen to replace Mr. Thakur, whose performance was not as per the government’s expectation.”
