New Delhi: Today, on Thursday 7th April, the AAP- Aam Aadmy Party’s chief- Arvind Kejriwal, who is also the Chief Minister of Delhi, was granted Bail by the Delhi- based court along with 5 other leaders from the AAP party in connection with their involvement in the criminal defamation case, which was earlier filed by Arun Jaitley- a Union Finance Minister.
Today, the said AAP party’s chief along with other five leaders including Deepak Bajpai, Sanjay Singh, Kumar Vishwas, Raghav Chadha and Ashutosh appeared before the Delhi Court with the heavy security and sloganeering from the supporters of both the AAP and BJP parties, which seemed outside the court. The matter is tabled before the Delhi- based Patiala House Court. It was nearly 2:30 PM, the said leaders- defendants in the case were appeared before the court.
Moreover, it was also seen that the claimant, Arun Jaitley was also present while the court decided to grant all those Six defendants a bail with the bond of 20000 rupees each. The Court was presided over by the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate- Sumit Dass.
It was seen that the BJP leaders including Ramesh Bidhuri, O. P. Sharma and Vijender Gupta were also associated with the Arun Jaitley, today, along with some other supporters while he appeared in the court.
It was seen earlier that on 21st day of December, 2015, the Finance Minister- Arun Jaitley had filed a complaint against those six AAP party’s leaders under the provisions of section 499, 500, 501, 502 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. The complainant seemed claiming the levy of charges against these leaders for their involving in making and disseminating defamatory statements.
It was seen that in the complaint the Minister- Jaitley found alleging the making of defamatory statements against him and his family, by the Delhi’s CM- Kejriwal and other AAP party leaders. And in such statements he claimed that these leaders have defamed him and his family as making pecuniary gains by association with M/s 21st Century Media Pvt. Ltd. (sports management firm).
Arun Jaitley actually filed two cases, one is criminal and second is civil for such defamation against these six AAP leaders, and in his civil litigation he claimed Ten Crores of rupees as damages.
