Kolkata: Virat Kohli from the Indian cricket team is considered as the leading batsman, and a real performer for whom number of fans specially attends matches to get full entertained, was deservingly awarded with the “Man of the Tournament” title in the ICC World Twenty- 20 tournament held in this year.
It was yesterday, in Kolkata, the star performer from Indian Team- Virat Kohli is awarded with this biggest title, and this proved the second successive time when Indian player- Kohli has won the said status. It was notable that the player- Kohli was earlier in the year 2014 was also named as the player of the tournament in Bangladesh, and that he was praised for his making 319 runs, which supported the team- India to reach Finals.
Moreover, while in the occasion, the player- Kohli was not present the spot, as such on his behalf, the former India team’s captain and also president of CAB- Sourav Ganguly collected the award.
It was Virat Kohli who, after announcement of the said award, in his reaction said that he is disappointed that Team India was not able to “make it through to the final and win the ICC World Twenty- 20 title on home soil” however, he said “I am proud to be named player of the tournament”.
He also found adding his congratulations to the both Men and Women teams of West Indies for their Success in the finals and for their becoming the owner of the ICC World T- 20 Winner’s title, this year.
It is notable, that the Indian player- Kohli found playing really well and in this tournament, throughout the entire matches which India played, he found scoring 273 runs with a staggering average of 136.50 and an equally astounding strike- rate of 146.77 with three Fifty plus scores. And for his boundaries he found hitting around 29 fours and Five Sixes in the battles. However, notably, the player- Kohli came second after Tamim Iqbal who played for Bangladesh and scored 295 runs in the tournament, but most them were scored by Tamim in the qualifying tournament.
