United States: The Iconic Mazda MX-5 has bagged the title for the Best Car and the World Car design of the year 2016 here in New York International Auto Show. This is the first time in the history of the competition that ‘a’ car has taken both the titles, Competing with the world’s prominent names like the AUDI A4 and the Merc – GLC . The jury board includes Journalists from 23 countries, and for the eligibility the cars must be in sale on at least two continents.
Mazda MX-5 Introduced in the year 1985 and the one which crowned the world best car title is the fourth generation. Known to be the world’s bestselling roadster which comes in 1496/1998 CC engines with maximum output of 131/160ps in 7000/6000 rpm and a torque of 150/200Nm in 4800/4600 rpm respectively. The front engine rear wheel drive, 2-door convertible comes in an overall length of 154.1 in, which covers 0-60mph in 5.9 secs and 0-100 mph in 16.2 sec with a top speed of 129 mph.
Hoping Mazda to launch its vehicles in India including the MX-5 so that it can popularize its roadster’s in India too.
