On refusal to say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’, the AIMIM MLA- Pathan suspended from Maharashtra legislative assembly

Mumbai: The Member of Legislative assembly- MLA of Maharashtra from AIMIM- All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, was suspended from the Assembly, today, on 16th March, on the ground that he refused to say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’.

The AIMIM’s legislator- Waris Pathan was suspended from Assembly and he will be remained suspended for the entire bedget session.

At the concerned time, when Pathan was suspended from Assembly, there was uproar in the assembly after BJP’s member- Ram Kadam asked him to say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’, which Pathan refused and this heated the leaders of the other parties, and as such they demanded the immediate suspension of Pathan.

Moreover, the Congress leader- Hussain Dalwai found stated that “What is wrong in saying ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’?”. Further he said that the “country where we live is our mother”.

It was also seen that the proposal for the suspension of MLA- Pathan as member for the duration of the ongoing budget session, was moved by Ranit Patil- the Minister of State (Parliamentary Affairs). Moreover, the House has approved his proposal.

AIMIM Chief- Asaduddin Owaisi found stated, few days ago, that he would not say ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ even if a knife is put to his throat.

It was seen that the MLA- Pathan was reacting on the speech of veteran writer- turned- politician- Javed Akhtar in the Parliament, and Pathan found stated that if Javed Akhtar want to say ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ then let him to do that, however, he will not say it, rather he would say ‘Hindustan Zindabad’ and ‘Jai Hind’.

Moreover, he added that he love his country, he “born here” and he will “die here”. He also asked not to judge anyone’s love for the country by just one slogan, and he concluded saying “Jai Hind Jai Bharat Jai Maharashtra”.

On the comments of Owaisi’s preferred plea of constitutional rights, Javed Akhtar today found stated in Rajya Sabha that he do not care for knowing “whether saying ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ is his duty or not”, but he added it is his “right”.
