Brussels: After four months at large, the key fugitive from the Islamic extremist attacks held in Paris, in November, has been arrested in capital of Belgium, as declared yesterday, on 18th March, by French Police personnel. While talking with the Associated Press, the Police Officials have specifically shown to have arrested yesterday in a major police operation in the Brussels neighbourhood of Molenbeek. Moreover, the officials while speaking over his arrest, talked only on condition of secrecy, as they told to have not authorized to speak publicly about an ongoing operation against the attackers. Both officials are found in contact with people involved in the operation.
The arrested- Salah Abdeslam, who is about 26- years- old was one among the attackers, as believe he has played logistical role, who attacked and put 130 people to death at a rock concert, the National Stadium and cafe on November 13.
Moreover, there were also two attackers along with one arrested (Abdeslam) who were involved in the Paris attack and remain unknown, including a man who is known under the alias of Soufiane Kayal and also a fellow Molenbeek resident- Mohamed Abrini.
It was after, the fingerprints which shown to have found by the Belgian authorities in an apartment raided earlier this week in another Brussels neighbourhood, the Abdeslam was caught.
Moreover, in the raid operation, the Police Officials have also to involve weapons and in result, a man, namely, Mohamed Belkaid, believed to have been an accomplice of Abdeslam was shot dead. This was disclosed by the prosecutors of Belgian. However, it is shown that from the apartment two men managed to escape, one of whom appears to have been Abdeslam.
Also, as per the Federal Prosecutor- Eric Van der Sypt, it is possible to say that, Abdeslam had spent days, weeks, or even months in the concerned apartment. After than November 13 attack, Abdeslam fled Paris.
A childhood friend of suspected ringleader- Abdelhamid Abaaoud, and also a Brussels- born Salah Abdeslam is believed to have driven a group of Gunman who took part.
