Rio Olympics 2016: Salman Khan’s appointment as Goodwill Ambassador hit out by sportspersons like Milkha Singh, Yogeshwar Dutt

New Delhi: After Kanhaiya Kumar, then Yogeshwar Dutt, and now Milkha Singh too seemed today, on Sunday 24th April, following the wrestler- Dutt is his criticism of Salman Khan’s appointment as a Goodwill Ambassador for India’s Rio contingent.

Milkha Singh the legend name in the sports, and in his a movie was made, found stated in his words that “IOA (Indian Olympics Association) has taken wrong decision.” He also sought to maintain that India need no ambassador, as “Sportsmen representing nation in Rio Olympics, 2016 are our ambassadors.”

Moreover, hitting out at Salman Khan’s appointment, Singh also found stated that “IOA should not have made a Bollywood person ambassador for sports event.” Also stating straight forward, Singh also asked that “Will they make a sports person an ambassador for Bollywood function?” and also Singh sought intervention of the Government in the matter.

While so, the former Indian track- Singh also found stated that IOA also should “reconsider its decision. If at all there is a need to send an ambassador, I think P. T. Usha, Rajvardhan Singh Rathore, Ajit Pal can be better choices.” The statements were released by The flying Sikh- Singh through his tweets.

It was seen earlier that the Indian wrestler- Yogeshwar Dutt, yesterday slammed the Salman Khan’s appointment as an ambassador to the event, and also questioned his contribution to the sport in India. Like Singh, earlier Yogeshwar also found stated that the legendary athletes like PT Usha and Milkha Singh would have been better choices for this role.

Yogeshwar, additionally, sought to give hint that the Bollywood’s Dabangg star- Salman Khan’s man intention behind such appointment was to promote his coming movie- Sultan.

It was seen that there was a news to the effect at the Bollywood superstar- Mr. Khan is set to represent Indian sporting community internationally as he was, reportedly, named as Goodwill Ambassador for the Indian contingent at Rio Olympics, 2016. And the announcement to this effect was made in the present of Olympic medallists and Rio star athletes like boxer- M. C. Mary Kom, hockey captain- Sardar Singh, and shooter- Apurvi Chandela, among others.

While so, the actor- Salman also found stated that, “I am honoured that Indian Olympic Association has chosen me as the goodwill ambassador for the Indian contingent for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.”
