New York: People have developed hobbies to walk or run wearing shoes, showing their caring attitude towards their foot, however, those who run barefoot, will show their caring attitude towards their working memory, which refers to our ability to recall and process information, as shown in new study.
The study is conducted by the researchers from the University of North Florida in the United States, and one of the researchers- Trace Alloway found stated that “working memory is increasingly recognised as a crucial cognitive skill, and these findings are great news for people looking for a fun way for boosting their working memory.”
The study took note from the seventy- two participants who were from 18 to 44 age group and were running both barefoot and with shoes for approximately 16 minutes. And when the working memory was measured and compared with statistics recovered before running, the results came amazing with the significant increase in the performance of working memory of approximately 16 %, among those who ran barefoot. The results of the study are published in the journal Perceptual and Motor Skills.
However, notably, while running barefoot, people should often take care of stepping on potentially hurtful objects by using precise foot placement.
