Ludhiana: The person who makes us drive up the Hero Cycles which many of the Indian people must have experienced, is now passed away. Satyanand Munjal is today, on Thursday 14th April, passed away as per his family members reportedly, at his residence in Model Town in Ludhiana.
The said Hero Cycles’ patriarch who was also popularly known as ‘Mahatma’, was one of the most respectful personality in the world of Business and also in the Social circles too in was having great name.
Now, Ninety- nine years’ old reportedly, died leaving behind his surviving children, who are six in number, among them 5 are sons and there is a single daughter.
Moreover, in his life, the Satyanand Munjal was popularly known for his brand Hero Cycle and also he was having much social respects besides he was a greatly devoted personality towards his Arya Samaj.
Actually, the name is stands in the names Munjal brothers, now the death of Satyanand Munjal occurred who was the eldest of the Munjal brothers and was also one who built the Hero Group, which has now emerged as one of the largest business conglomerates in the country.
While so, after his death, the big political personalities including the Chief Minister of Punjab- Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab- Sukhbir Singh Badal and also the Revenue Minister of Punjab- Bikram Singh Majithia were shown expressing their pain and they also condoled the demise of the Satyanand Munjal.
In his journey with the Hero Cycle, Satyanand Munjal along with his four brother, namely Om Prakash Munjal, Satyanand Munjal, Late Brijmohan Lall Munjal and Late Dayanand Munjal established Hero Group. These Munjal brothers hailed from a small town- Kamalia, which is now in Punjab. And it was after the partition and independence of India, the brothers moved to Ludhiana and started their bicycle unit in the year 1956 with the name “Hero Cycles”. And by the very coming years, especially in the year 1975, the Hero Cycles have become the most famous and largest manufacturer in the bicycles in the country.
