Washington: The statements from United States suggests that they encourages “direct” India- Pakistan talks for reducing the strains. Moreover, they also founds stated that they believe the benefits of both the countries from “practical co- operation”. The statements from United States released hours after the Pakistan found stated that the bilateral peace process stands “suspended”.
While releasing the stations from United States, the deputy spokesperson from the US state department- Mark Toner told media that the United States believe that it has been their longstanding position that India and Pakistan stand to benefit from the “normalization of relations” and “practical co- operations” and as such the United States encourages them to do so. Thus, the United States suggests that both the countries to engage in “direct dialogue” for reducing the “tensions” between the two governments and two countries.
Moreover, the spokesperson- Mark also found stated that the US also “strongly support those efforts” as it believes that the same will “lead to greater stability and peace” in the region and it is also for the benefits of both the countries.
Also, while reiterating that in the Kashmir Policy of United States, there is no change, the said Spokesperson said yesterday that the “pace, scope, and character” of such talks in connection with this issue, depends on India and Pakistan.
Moreover, for forging closer relations, the US says it will support any and all “positive steps” which India and Pakistan can take.
It was seen that the Abdul Basit from Pakistan in his remarks found pointing reference to the Former Indian Navy Officer- Kulbhushan Jadhav, who is currently in detention of Pakistan against the charges of Spying. However, when US official was questioned to speak up on the arrest of the Indian National, it chooses to keep mum on this issue. However, he said that he is aware of the reports about such arrests, but he don’t have any details in this connection.
Recently, the Indian Political party- BJP found stated that by allowing the JIT in India for investigation, India has well performed its turn, now it is Pakistan to shown how they can fulfil their commitment, reportedly, on Pathankot issue.
